A small friendship story with a grasshopper...

It was a nice Sunday evening. I took my mom, brother and sister with me to Shangumugham beach. While standing on the shore, my mom saw a grasshopper which was found on the ground alive, but helpless to fly because of the wind. Mom called me and showed me the grasshopper. I saw my mom's face getting dull seeing the helpless grasshopper. It may be eaten by the waves or crunched by someones feet if not helped.

I too felt sad. I gave my hand to the grasshopper. It climbed on my hand and then started walking to my shoulders. I was so irritated while it was walking. After 2 seconds the irritation was lost. Grasshopper played around my fingers for a long time and then came to my shoulders to rest. I felt like i gave my shoulders for my friend to rest on. Again due to the wind it fell down. I gave my hand again for it to climb up. This time it climbed up and stayed within the palm. It didn't try to move to my shoulders. I felt like i have secured my friend within my hand.

I understood that it felt comfortable to sit in my hands. I thought of bringing it to my home. But my mom said to leave it on some grass. It changed my mind. I also thought that it should not come to my home. It should go to its home. I went to a corner where i found some grass. I kept my hand on the ground. It denied to get down of my hand. I too felt sad in leaving it. But when i kept on keeping my hand on the ground, it climbed down slowly like it was not willing to.

Sadly said bye to the grasshopper friend which was a stranger to me at first but became friends within seconds. It was like a friend leaving out of town telling bye to me.
We were strangers at first, became friends within seconds, then said bye...
Missing you my friend running over my fingers...

Thanks to my bro who captured it all.

Hope that grasshopper is enjoying its very small life.

Thank GOD
